Which Paint Stripper should I use?

Stripping paint often is an arduous task that takes a lot of time and elbow grease – but it doesn’t have to be this way!

Exterior paint stripping is best done with liquid chemical strippers, read on as we briefly highlight the best exterior paint strippers on the market today.

MAXI STRIP 30 – 

MAXISTRIP 30 is an all purpose paint stripper used to target removal of failing top coats, as a prep tool to reaching suitable substrate or for complete removal of all layers to bare surfaces.

MAXISTRIP 30 works on 2-pot, acrylic, enamel, varnish, powder coating, and lacquer. An ideal prep tool for removal of failing top coats, through to complete removal back to bare surface. Also used for graffiti removal.

MAXISTRIP 30 is made to denature coatings within 30 minutes in warm weather. Working deep to blister and soften even the most stubborn paints. It is fast, efficient and cost effective.

Spray or brush on maxistrip 30 as thick as the layers to be removed.

MAXISTRIP 30 has a gell like texture due to its unique inbuilt suffactant, this fully encapsulates coatings wet as they are removed. The remaining surface should then be scrubbed with water and a scouring pad to achieve a clean and suitable surface for recoating.

Lightning Stripper – 

Lightning Paint Stripper quickly penetrates paint, lifting it from the substrate and softening it for easy removal with a scraper or steel wool. Easy clean up with water or meths

  • Removes multiple layers in a single application

Application: Apply a thick coat using a brush. Allow paint to soften & blister (depending on age of paint, quantity and coats required)

Removal: Use a paint scraper or steel wool to remove paint before paint hardens. If paint remains after scraping apply a second coat and repeat the process.

Clean Up: wash surface with water or Meths (depending on surface) until clean and allow surface to completely dry before recoating.

 

Little Ripper – 

  • Little Ripper will remain working for up to 3 days, this is due to the unique gel formulation of Little Ripper and low evaporation rate.
  • Removes up to 10 layers of paint in one application, as long as it remains moist, Little Ripper keeps working.
  • Apply to vertical surfaces with confidence, Little Ripper will not sag on the job.
  • Little Ripper can be applied by brush with ease.
  • For the larger jobs Little Ripper can be applied through conventional airless spray using a 0.021” to 0.031” tip.
  • Little Ripper can be used on interior surfaces – it has very low odour.
